How Does Workers’ Compensation Work?

If you get hurt on the job you can file a Workers Compensation Claim to obtain necessary benefits and medical treatment to help you recover.

Workers Compensation was created to provide these benefits without having to sue. Employers can not fire you for applying, even if you are undocumented.

When you apply you may be entitled to the following.

1. Medical care – you may receive medication, therapy and other recommended medical treatment.

2. Financial Support – You may receive 2/3 of your income while you are unable to work

3. Permanent disability -You may receive additional payments for loss of future earning capacity

4 Educational Support – You may receive money to use for school to help you return to the workforce if you are unable to return to your employer.

5 Additional Aid – You may also receive a $5000 supplemental payment if you are unable to work.

Applying for these benefits can be a complicated process. There are a lot of regulations that need to be followed. It is recommended to at least consult with an attorney before moving forward with your claim. Maurice L. Abarr, Work Injury Lawyer is more than happy to provide a free case evaluation for people who are seeking help with their work injury.
